The Declaration of Independence gave birth to what is known today as the United States of America. The declaration helps the leaders and/or government lead our country. If we didnât have it we wouldnât have the laws we have today, we wouldnât be able to have fire arms, women wouldnât be able to vote, and so many other things. The document is symbolic of American democracy and one of the free charters of freedom. The words stated in the Declaration rallied support from colonists at home, and colonists living abroad.
