we have the function

[tex]y=arctan(\frac{1}{x}-x)[/tex]

using a graphing tool

see the attached figure below

The domain is all real numbers except for x=0

The range is the interval (-pi/2, pi/2)

there are horizontal asymptotes at

y=pi/2 and y=-pi/2
