so here we go
first we have to think of a number that can fill in for y and is more than 3 more of 43 since we will subtract it.
so you can pretty much use any number that is over 3 more than 43!
ex: 65,78,90

First you want to get ride of -3 opposite is to add 3 so -3+3=0 what you do to one side you do to the other 43+3=48 so therefore y=48
