Equation 1) 10x + 2y = 30
Equation 2) 4x + y = 4

Multiply all of equation 2 by 2.

2)  2(4x + y = 4)

2)  8x + 2y = 8
1)  10x + 2y = 30

Subtract equations from each other.

-2x = -22

Divide both sides by -2.

x = -22/-2

x = 11

B) x = 11
